Claire Danes has signed up to be the new face of Gucci’s jewellery range replacing Drew Barrymore.
Gucci released the following statement, ‘Claire Danes is a modern icon. For me she is one of the most interesting young actresses on the international scene. She is very natural, fresh, and has a carefree attitude which can also be seen in the roles she has chosen. Claire’s sensual, confident beauty and her passionate, independent and strong character embodies today’s Gucci woman.’
In reply Claire Danes said, ‘I am thrilled and honoured to be working with Gucci on their jewellery campaign. Frida is a very inspiring and creative woman. Her vision is extraordinary and I am excited to be a part of it.’

Asda had dropped Coleen McLoughlin as the face of George. In a statement from McLoughlin’s publicist ‘The contract came to a natural end. Asda are changing their campaign to go after thirty-somethings, which is plainly not Coleen’s demographic.’
McLoughlin will not stop modelling and she is in talks with a number of high street brands.
Fiona Lambert, the George brand director released the following statement ‘its time to change the emphasis a little. We want to show that our core fashions are for everyone. Customers want us to concentrate on better designs and better quality but still maintain great value prices.’
