America fashion designer Rick Owens was born in 1962 and in 1994 begun his own fashion brand (selling exclusively to a retailer named Charles Gallay) after he studied fine arts at what is now known as Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles and later working for local sports wear brands. The fashion items which Rick Owens designs are a firm favourites with those who enjoy being daring with their style. The brand is loved by a large number of rock stars.

The style in which he creates his various products has been described as has been described as “glamour-meets-grunge”. In 2001 the brand went global after Owens signed with Eo Bocci Associati, an Italian sales agent and as a result the production of the brand moved to Italy. In 2003 he became creative director for the furrier, Revillon and now works out of Paris.

He first began to truly receive attention in the fashion world when one of his fitted distressed Leather Jackets was featured in Paris Vogue and worn by Kate Moss; his first runway collection was shown at New York Fashion Week in September 2002. Courtney Love, Madonna and Helena Bonham Carter are just a few of the famous faces that have been spotted wearing Rick Owens clothing.
